Gregory Hoffman – Founder and Creative Director
efore founding True Edge Pictures, Gregory worked for 15 years in live theatre all over the world as a Producer, Director and Fight Director, including 12 years as a Resident Artist at The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. During this time he was involved in over 300 theatre productions. He has worked with, among others, Elizabeth Banks, Anika Noni Rose, Oscar award winners Olympia Dukakis and Holly Hunter, and Pulitzer, Tony, and Emmy award winner, Tony Kushner. Stage Directing credits include Romeo and Juliet, Julious Caesar, The Tempest (starring Olympia Dukakis) with Hamlet on deck in 2016.
One of the leading Theatrical Sword Experts in the world, Gregory is the Founder of ‘Dueling Arts International,’ the second largest company of its kind, providing training for actors, teachers and fight directors in Theatrical Combat worldwide. He produced and directed the independent film ‘Upside Out,’ featuring Olympia Dukakis, and ‘And They Fight…’ a 23 hr. educational DVD series on Theatrical Swordfighting which is the most comprehensive educational tool of its kind. A long time student of Chinese Kung Fu, he is also considered to be a Master Teacher of T’ai Chi Ch’uan.
A graduate of STANFORD University in Fine Arts, Anthropology, and Theatre Arts, Gregory has also been an Owner / Director of a Hawaiian based Cruise Boat and Ferry business, as well as a non-profit Marine Research Foundation for 35 years, and now also presently serves on The Board of Directors of a leading Canadian renewable energy company.
Charitable contributions include work for The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) in East Los Angeles, producing and directing several promotional videos for VIP, in order to raise awareness and generate financial support for the clinic and its ongoing work for victims of violence and abuse.
